A lot of people were saying that study is inaccurate and they used crazy metrics like why didn't they do one bedroom instead of two and some people said that it takes into account the most luxury apartments.

Or a couple needs to earn $9.74 each. Two low wage earners can easily afford a 2 bedroom apartment.

can't afford it, don't move here --- move somewhere else - the numbers can be skewed by high rent districts......St Pete has million dollar places downtown that probably escalate the numbers as does Tampa downtown areas......

The interesting thing is that it compares states as a whole, so whatever reservations you have about the stats and how they are skewed, if they are skewed they are equally skewed among all the states, so it gives a fair comparison I can determine that Florida is in the upper tier as far as rental costs, and affordable housing legislation is non existent in Florida as a state, while in places that are also saddled with high housing costs you do have some sort of affordable housing subsidies or requirements for new constructions.

some states have more big cities and thus higher rents than others - these stats don't tell me much other than before moving here, have a job lined up and don't expect to live in certain parts of Florida dirt-cheap.....

For example, Manhattan rents are extremely high and skew NY's average, but I wouldn't make a generalization about NY rents for areas other than NYC ---I probably could live in Upstate NY at a much lower rent.

I dont see how the author comes up with the figures. FL is a big state. For instance, an apartment in Lake City runs about $600 for an apartment in a complex which has amenities; pool, laundry, gym.
