I live in tampa,fl & I cannot find any places that are pit friendly.I have a 10 month blue nose who is sweet as a baby.I have been told that I can have a vet say she is an American Staffordshire Terrier but I am kinda scared to ask a vet to do that.Do you still happen to have that vet's # in clearwater,fl?

We have a Pitbull/American Bulldog mix, a Terrier mix, and an English Bulldog and have never had a problem finding rentals in Tampa. We've never even been required to pay a pet deposit. We have always rented through private owners though and would definitely recommend it regardless of what kind of breed you have. It's much easier and very much less of a hassle.
As far as insurance, there are lots of options as far as pet and rental insurance, but there are only a couple companies in Florida who will insure Pitbulls. I could talk all day about the ridiculous politics of Pitbull ownership but won't get into it.
Good luck in your housing search and hello to all you fellow Pitbull owners!

Blue Pit
Our son has a blue pit and it is one of the nicest though energized dogs we've ever been around. You don't need a Vet to authenticate what it actually is however. It is a Staffordshire Terrier.

I have no problem with any breed as long as the dog is a sweet trained dog and otherwise the owner takes care of it in a way no others can be harmed and my property won't be ruined. I do ask for a non refundable pet fee which never has been an issue for any animal lover.

Folks.. place houses for rent in the classified section of CD. If someone ask about a house for rent, send them a DM with the info.

NOT SMART!! Even if the dog doesn't have papers they will make you get a breed test. I told my complex my pit is a boxer/jack russell mix and they told me she looks like a pit so I have to give her a dna test. Camden Bay on Hillsborough is lenient. Also I used to live in Tuscany Pointe and they are cool there. Tell them the dog is a mix of something and they will be fine. Tenants don't complain!

Not smart indeed, especially for the vet who can have his license to practice revoked for falsifying papers.

Willow Brooke Apartments accept pitbulls if you want to live in the USF/Temple Terrace area.

I love dogs but sorry I have had bad experiences with pit bulls. Both times the owners claimed their dogs were sweeties and wouldn't hurt a fly. All I was doing was going to my car when the dogs came at me. So you lie and get in and then your little angel bites someone, you will get your butt sued. Not to mention the complex will be held liable for allowing a dangerous dog in. Lying is never a good thing because it will always come back to bite you.
