Hey guys,

It has been seven months since my relocation. I have to say that I'm loving the Tampa Bay area. Given, I haven't been able to explore as much as I would like because my budget is very tight right now; but what I've seen I like.

My wife will be coming for her second visit next weekend. She'll be staying Friday and Saturday all day. I'm trying to decide what we could do during those days.

For now, on Friday, most of the morning we'll be at the dentist, so I pretty much have the afternoon to fill. I've got planned a road trip to St. Petersburg via the Skyway, lunch somewhere there, and then a drive through Tampa Bay down town. However, I don't if this is enough to fill the afternoon.

Saturday is a question mark right now. I'm thinking either Lowry zoo, river walk biking, the aquarium, or a combination of those.

I would also like to take my wife to some park with trees, no simply a park with a clearing. She loves sunflowers, so any park of garden with those would be perfect, but any garden is good to.

Can you guys give me some other suggestions on where I could take her?

I've already taken her to MOSI and the Straz Theater.

Thanks

Tampa Bay doesn't have a downtown. It's a body of water. However, Downtown Tampa has a lot of different things going on. Here's my YouTube series to help you out:

When I want an impressive view, I eat at The Hurricane on Pass-A-Grille Beach at sunset. You simply can't watch the sun going down there and not be in awe of the natural beauty of this area. If it leads to a romantic walk along the beach for you and your wife after dinner that's an added bonus.

I also think Sunken Gardens would be a good choice for anyone who gardens or loves plants. I'm a big fan of the zoo, as well. There are tons of great things to do and I'm sure your wife will like anything you choose.

Don't forget about the Rusty Pelican. That place has a pretty epic view.

Driving to get to all these places will eat up your day.

To get to St Pete via the Skyway you'll have to come from Bradenton, Sarasota, etc.

Lowry Zoo is boring as hell!

Sunken Gardens is nice...

I'd stick to St Pete, because between the gardens, the beach etc your time will be eaten up quite quickly.

There isn't much in Tampa to occupy half a day unless you like driving in traffic a lot. That will occupy your time.

I agree ^^^. I haven't been in awhile, but I always loved that place. You are literally sitting right out over the water - amazing.
