If he is anything like my wife & me or like several on this forum, they will not have a problem with summer feeling like summer. If they do not care for subtropical summers, then they probably will not enjoy it.

I just want a few days of a southeast windflow. At least the humidity is not as bad.

Lol, I did.

I'm not a BIG fan of FL anymore really, but I didn't expect people to be rude to the OP.

But you do see why they were? The OP invited that behavior. Besides, he is still on a vacation at this point.

You will get it at some point, but for how long would be the question.

I disagree. No one invites anything. How someone chooses to respond is their own choice. Quite frankly, I am still scratching my head why some people can't just be happy for the guy. I don't even know him, but it puts a smile on my face reading how happy he is. If he is "still on vacation" as you put it, I guess that means many of my family members have been on vacation here for two to three decades now. This may come as a shock to a few people, but there are people who love it here from day one and keep on loving it year after year. No place is for everyone, but this place is for many. It's just that simple.

I don't think the OP invited that behavior either. I think it's nice that he came here to express his happiness about finally realizing his dream of making Florida his new home. Believe it or not, many of us worked very hard, took numerous exploratory trips, researched for years, and planned carefully before making our move here. We knew what we were getting into and looked forward to the heat, sunshine, flora, fauna, and changes. Florida is not a perfect place, but for many people it's a heck of a lot better than where they relocated from, and they are happy to be here. Why some people take an expression of joy as an invitation to ridicule and be rude is beyond me. Even if you believe the OP's joy will be short lived when reality sets in, let him enjoy it and bask in the moment.

I'd imagine living here two to three decades is a bit longer and helps give people a better idea of the area than two weeks.
