Default Electronic music scene in Tampa Bay area?

I'm going to be visiting the Tampa Bay area this year. I had read this article some time ago:
Floridian: Electronic playground
which touted the electronic music scene there. I have heard of the Bonk festival and Sycom. Are they still active? What is the scene like now? Still active or moribund? I'm not talking about mindless dance music but ambient and IDM to the more avant-garde. Any sort of scene of this sort in the region?

Not familiar with those genre's.. but I enjoy the breakbeat genre's based out of the bay area.

Scene is dying, unfortunately.
