That was the first year I moved here. It was a little bizarre going Christmas tree shopping in shorts. Christmas eve the temperature starting dropping and dropping. Loved that. Now probably not so much.

It was the biggest drop i ever saw. That front blasted thru that morning on X mas eve and it dropped like 40 degrees by later that nite. I was working on a tanker ship in Port of Tampa so it was really blowing being that high off the water.

For those who complain about the weather in Florida and long for the four seasons, here's an example of what you may find yourself living in. I'm in Chicago area, last week was in the 60's. Today 8" of snow yesterday and temp is 5 degrees this morning with a windchill that feels like 6 below zero. THIS is the reason I'm so looking forward to living in Florida

Our reverse west wind flow will change your mind during the summer.

I think you mean "sweltering" in FL. Been there done that, be careful what you wish for.

So many people don't realize there is a heckuva lot of moderate and beautiful climates and coastline in between the Midwest and the Northeast before you get to FL. I do realize everyone has a different tolerance for the heat and humidity, but it's very expensive to find out.

Temps at mid 90's and humidity in the mid 90's and 'feel like' temps at 110, every day with no letup in the summer is brutal. Even temps at 85 with 'feel like' temps at 105 etc. are brutal. Everyone says "you'll get used to it". Hah, that's because they can't afford to leave. And, we haven't even mentioned to the OP about the swampy landscapes, the critters and the incessant bugs.

Nice (crowded, traffic riddled) place to vacation in the winter, that's about it.

With high pressure locked in place to our south and a steamy wind blowing off of 90 degree gulf temps the guy will wake up very fast and see what true hell is.
