My insurance tripled by moving to FL. 16 year old sedan that's worth about $1000. Mid 30s, clean driving record. Paying $90/month WITHOUT COLLISION.

FL: high accident rate, very high in fraud, very bad drivers, uninsured drivers.

I went from paying over $200/month for 1 car in FL to 60 bucks in NC. A friend of mine also went from $160 to $80 upon moving from FL to Colorado. High insurance in FL is very real.

Jeez. I remember when I was younger, like 20 years or so ago when tons of people from NY would find a way to register and insure their cars in Florida through a friend or relative because the rates were so cheap compared to NY.
Used to see Florida plates almost as much as NY plates.
Now the common plates are NC and it's always an immigrant driving.

I'm at $95/month on a 2015 Mazda 6 with 100/300 limits, towing, medical payments, uninsured motorist, accident forgiveness, rental reimbursement and $500 deductible. Clean history for myself and husband. USAA is the best rate I could find!

Just renewed mine after i moved from Rocky Point to Lutz, still in Hillsborough county, but mine dropped from $721 to $644 with Geico every 6 months, and i drive a 14' Nissan Maxima, unmarried, early 30's. Big difference from when i lived in Ohio when i was paying $300/6 months with full coverage.

Yup. Gotta love the NY plate on the front and FL on the back.

Hard to compare rates unless it is from same sized city to same sized city, etc. Rates IN FL,and any other State, vary depending on the number of people, traffic in an area, age of drivers and much more. I checked rates for my wife and I in FL and about the same as CA, and TN where I now live. If you moved to a large city like Miami it will be higher than in a smaller city. Snow Birds VS minimal tourism, College town VS no college and more.

But FL drivers are horrible compared to east TN where you are.
