What is Like in Parrish Florida
I was looking online and I found some new Pulte Homes in Parrish,Florida which were very reasonable. For those who either live or have been to Parrish what is the town like? I live in Phoenix and I want to settle down in a smaller town or city. I have been looking in Sarasota for a new home and they are so much for a single person. I know Parrish is a lot smaller than Phoenix but I am getting tired of living in a big city with long commutes to work. I heard Parrish is 30 minutes to Sarasota or St Pete but is that when the traffic is light. Also, I heard Parrish is growing, but do you need to travel far to go to the grocery store etc.

Parrish
I enjoy living in Parrish and drive to Sarasota every day for work. It takes me 40 minutes to get to downtown Sarasota. Grocery stores are in the area and a new Publix (the best grocery stores around) just opened along 301.
However, I have never heard anything good about Pulte Homes. Do your research. The subdivision we are in has large lots so we are not right on top of our neighbors. We really like that.

I've heard similar things about Pulte.. yes, make sure you research the builder.
Not a fan of Parrish. Worked there for 3 months, never really liked it.. not that where I live is any better. Just depends on your age and demographic, etc.

While driving past a lot of subdivisions along US 301, I noticed that they sure do like to build these houses close together - too close. I can't imagine living so close to my neighbors - where you can hear conversations of your neighbors if the windows are open.
It looks like a trend for these cookie-cutter type houses - some of which I've seen in Parrish/Palmetto.

That's Florida in general.. It's like that no matter what city you wish to live in, unfortunately.

Hi, we are in the same boat for looking in the Parrish, Ellenton area. The two almost seem connected, at least for the newer communities. I took a drive through several neighborhoods about two days ago to get a good look at everything. Most of the newer communities are off of 301 which become tougher through the next few years for commuters because it's only a two lane road. Mocassic Wallow Rd leads to I-75 and 301 dumps out about 4 miles south to I-75. So it's not too bad depending on where you are, although I have not seen the commute first hand but a few others have posted what it's like on other Parrish postings. The only community that had cdd's that I visited was Ryland and the fee's(hoa & cdd) equaled about $2000 a year. The home prices were good but that is a bit much for fee's. The established communities off 301 and Erie Lake rd were very nice. I could easy live in most off those. The pricing is pretty good in most areas. In that area of Manatee it seems safe, affordable, enjoyable, and clean. Theis goes for just about everything east of I-75. Everything west is sketchy, a bit older, and uncertain. I was there(west of I-75) until a little after dark and it seemed alright but would check it a bit longer before testing the waters. The east side seemed great though. would recommed it. I bewlieve most of the reviews on Parrish and ellenton are positive, just stay away from Palmetto and central Bradenton. If you do a crime lookup you will find most of the crime happens down on 41 near the Manatee river/ north & south Let me know if you want the names of some of the communites that I saw and give you some of the names. Good luck.

If you are coming from Phoenix to Parrish you will be sadly dissappointed.........There is no young and hip..there. If you are wanting to be isolated then yes it would be a great place...Check out South Tampa or Old NorthEast St. Pete

You are right, its a growing area but there isn't much to do. It's ideal if you like a quiet lifestyle and don't mind driving a bit to work. Beautiful homes too, for not a bad penny..
