Can anyone recommend the areas of Tampa which are similar to Maitland or Winter Park?

We currently live in Hollywood (FL) and were considering relocating to Maitland or Winter Park, but for a variety of reasons, are starting to rethink our options.

My husband works from home, but travels a lot for work. Ideally we would like to be within 45 minutes of the airport. I work in marketing, so my skill set is pretty generic. Part of the reason for considering the Tampa area is I am having no luck finding a job in Orlando.

We plan to rent a 2/2 or 2/3 apartment, condo or townhouse and would like to keep the rent under $1500 per month.

We are a late 40's, no kids at home, pet friendly, Trader Joes, farmers market, artsy, cultural activities, glass of wine with dinner, occasional afternoon at the beach kind of married couple.

Thanks so much for your assistance.

South Tampa resembles Winter Park. Carrollwood resembles Maitland to an extent...I used to work in Maitland, and it is mostly businesses.

Mind you, South Tampa is not cheap.

I am not sure there is a Trader Joe's in Tampa (yet). I hear of one in Naples.

What's wrong with Hollywood? that was where my favorite beach was before we moved to Orlando...and then Tampa.......hahahahaha (but we have kids...LOL)

What's wrong with Hollywood, well it's just not a good fit for me...

The Hollywood beach is nice, but that really about all there is to do around here, unless one includes shopping and casinos as past times.

I think at one time Hollywood may have been a nicer area, but in the past year, my car was stolen from our driveway and our house burglarized. The jewelry store 3 blocks from our house was robbed at gunpoint two weeks ago.

I realize there is crime everywhere, but I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for 25 years without incident, except for someone denting my car in a parking lot and not leaving a note, which I thought was really rude.

It's also more expensive here as compared to either Orlando or Tampa...
