If you used the Crosstown and the I-4 "connector", your daily tolls would be around $4.42/day for a round trip using a SunPass transponder.

My spouse makes this trip daily and they swear by the connector as far as speeding up the trip. Previously you had to go downtown and take the I-275 Ashley St. exit, which was a real mess. If you did that now it would save you about a buck a day, but it would add time to the commute.

Great! Thanks! I'm assuming there arent any trains going into that area correct? Like a path line.

There are many "future" plans that incorporate a future multimodal center in the Westshore area. FDOT recently bought the land were Charley's Steak house and a hotel are to build it in the future, but there are no funds or plans in the next 5 years. It will probably be another generation before it happens, but eventually there will be a line into there, eventually connecting into the airport.

All long term.

They're just adding more sunshine to the thread with their positive outlook!

If you ignore the trolls long enough they'll crawl back under their bridge.

What about the Wesley Chapel, Zhills and Dade City areas? Are they nice? Tolls going into Tampa?

The only toll roads in the Tampa area are the Selmon Crosstown Expressway, which begins in Brandon and ends at Gandy Blvd., and the Veteran's Expressway, which runs from west of the airport up to and beyond Pasco and Hernando Counties.

There is no direct highway route from Wesley Chapel, ZHills and Dade City into Tampa. You would come down I-75 and go west on I-4 or down I-75 and then I-275 for the most part. There are some other routes you could take but they would be surface streets.

Wesley Chapel is the fastest growing region right now, and its a parking lot coming and going from there on I-75 and I-275. At least no tolls, but 1 hour to 1.5 hours easily during rush hour to the airport/westshore area.

There are FDOT plans that they are trying to push to eventually add Toll Lanes on most of I-275 from Bearss to the other side of the bridge in Ulmerton Rd, but people are fighting it, and it would take over 20 years to build it all out.

As for Zephyrhills and Dade City, you are further out, but there is cheap housing out there, but then again this are very rural areas.

Added to the fact that it wont stop the bottlenecking, which is the real problem.
