Area information please ! We have put a deposit on a winter rental. It was listed as Indian Shores, 4 blocks from the beach. The actually address is Mediera Beach, off of Miramar Ave. I have heard horror stories of people renting winter places sight unseen so I am a little concerned. I have never been to this area of Florida so any information would be greatly appreciated ! We did rent through a real estate agency and not an owner.

Indian Shores is one of the better beaches for sure in Pinellas. Less Crowded and known. A lot of locals visit that beach because they got a huge parking lot. Mederia has more restaurants and hotels as Indian Shores is more residential. Winter rentals can be shady you got to watch who the realtor is. Lived right off the coast in Largo/Seminole for 6years or so.

Unless theres another Myramar street in Indian Shores the one you refer to is entirely in Madeira beach.Nice beach however beach access for automobiles is limited due to the wall of highrise hotels and condos that line the beach area.
Looking north from the beach at Johns Pass at Madeiras southern end it looks like this=

And a map of the beaches=

Thank you for the information and pictures !
This rental is definitely Madeira Beach. Appears that it is located on Miramar Ave @ 140th Ave. E, do you know if this is a nice and safe area ?

Not sure of the specific address but the area has a sameness about it mostly one story detached bungalows ,i'd call it a nice area but thats just my opinion.=

Beach access on foot is not a problem, direct foot access at 140th Ave and Gulf. Also the area is very safe and there are lots of places to eat/drink at and shopping nearby
you will be fine I am sure - the whole area is pretty decent. Just be cautious crossing Gulf Blvd at the intersection there. It can be busy and not everyone is always paying attention. Enjoy your vacation
