Any weather issues?

What direction do you have to point the dish from the Tampa Bay Area?

Any other input?

Thx much

I paid a $1000 for DVT when it first came out in 1994. Never had much rain fade probs since we got little rain in Danashores. Then i got Dish in 1996. Not much diff from Cable. The dish was pointed southwest back in the days. Not sure now.

When I was a kid my parents had DirecTV, would constantly go out when it rained. After that we switched to Brighthouse and Verizon. The latter, now Frontier, seems to be the best in the Tampa area.

We recently went DISH after leaving DirecTV. Much better rates. Had a couple of 30 second to 1 minute signal losses during the rains.

Be brave! OTA is available for free with a cheap antenna for any networks stuff you want to see. Buy a Roku or other box and watch whatever else you want to see over the internet. No more rain-outs and you'll actually watch less TV and more of what you want, it's a win-win.

OTA- HD has the best pic of all. But if you like spanish stuff you will be in heaven.

I need specific channels for certain live events, which are not available OTA.

I have had Direct TV since 1997. As long as they own the exclusive rights to Sunday Ticket, I will continue. Rain fade has never been much of an issue. If and when it comes, its over quickly. Our satellite is pointed SW. The sunday ticket went up to $260.00 this year. I called them up this weekend and asked if there was anything they could do for me being a long time customer. They game me a $50.00 a month credit for 12 months($600.00) and upgraded all my equipment with free installation. This is not the first time they have given me a price break. I pretty much call them every year when we get the bill for sunday ticket. I have not had to pay for the ticket in over 7 years.
