If you are driving in a traffic light dense area it would be in your best interest to be prepared to stop probably frequently.
Also if you are following a car that stops for a red light and you rear end him you were traveling too close also if he is stopping for a red light that light would definitely have been red by the time you went through it even if he had not stopped..
We have seen about fraud in the government and if you read the link in my OP than you can see how County officials are paid to keep a program to make certain people more rich!

On top that the orange/yellow time line is often shortened to scam the public and why have so many Counties gotten rid of the cameras but Hillsborough not. Makes me wonder why after reading the link.

Who is gaining from the cameras? The County as Hillsborough roads are definitely not in good condition and getting worse every year with many pot holes and cars getting damage... where does the money go!

Tampering with orange light timing could be considered fraud and result in a class action suit against those responsible, no doubt it has happened but i doubt its a wide spread practice particularly as it would be so easy to prove. .
Who's gaining? who cares just stop at the red light and you wont be paying a ticket.

Traffic light timing is carefully managed and recorded by the government entity responsible for the light. It's down to the detail where you can make a public records request for a specific light's timing based on a given date.

Good luck reading the timing tables if you don't have a basic understanding of traffic light functions.

And yet, the FDOT had to get involved because cities were setting short yellow lights.
