My hubby and I are spending our first Christmas in Tampa, and we usually get a real christmas tree every year. There's nothing like the smell of pine in the house . So where are the best spots around town to get a real, affordable christmas tree? (we checked out trees at a place nearby, the seller was asking like $80 for a 6 foot tree, which we thought was a little pricey)

We appreciate your suggestions!

Well, Home Depot/Lowe's are probably as cheap as it gets, but when I got one at Lowe's a couple years ago they refused to tie it to my car (liability, I'm sure). I was annoyed.

if your not afraid to do a little work yourself, lowes and home depot are the best deal. Dont expect someone to come walk with you, hold the trees, open them up and all of that stuff for you. Sometimes you can get them to help throw it in the car but I usually just grab it and throw it on top myself.

if your not wanting to do any work yourself, go to any tent and pay a lot more but get better service too.

Honestly, Home Depot and Lowes have a good selection and good prices, the advantage is that they will trim and bag the tree per your directions for free. But the best smelling trees at a good price seem to be at Publix. You will have to trim the trunk yourself, and for this reason we chose Lowes, but we got a pretty nice tree for $53 tax included.

Thanks LargeKingCat! We plan on getting our tree next week, so we'll check out Lowes, although the Home Depot is closer to us, so we may just go there...
