Thanks for all of the responses! Glad to know the palms are everywhere. I love them all I will take all I can get. I will get a better assesment when we're down there next month. Looking forward to it.

si33-WOW! You are a palm nut! That was a lot of info. Hope you are able to get out of California soon if that's what you're looking to do. And I will keep the plumeria tip in mind. I would love to start growing something..maybe I could give that a try.

gypsychic-So, I checked out Lakeland online....I saw some pictures that another poster had put on his site and oh my gosh what a gorgeous town you have! Seriously..what a pretty, picture perfect little place. And it's so clean. It would be an ok commute for my hubby, but I don't think it would be conducive to me and my kiddo. The part time homeschool school I am looking at is in NPR so I don't think that would be a reasonable commute for us. Unfortunately because I fell in love with the pictures...so pretty! Maybe we'll drive out when we're there and check it out anyway. If we move elsewhere I still have plans to drive over there and hang out downtown and just take in the view.

Berkshirelassie- No worries! I am totally doing my research and the job thing won't be an issue for us fortunately. I have already checked everything else of importance that was why I was asking about the palm trees...and trust me they might not be of importance to others, but weather and pretty scenery is key to my well being! I am so tired of cold and trees that are dead brown all winter with no leaves..and frankly not a fan of hills. Mountains yes, hills no. Can't wait to be in the heat!

*Raises Hand*

I'm a palm tree nut too

My favorite are coconuts and dates. We should start a palm tree thread!

Oh my gosh I have so much to learn! I can't tell the difference...I just know that I like em'! Have been around palms before and never really paid that much attention, then this past fall had the oportunity to visit LA and fell in love with them. Guess I had to be older to appreciate their beauty. Ok....off to do my research so I know what the heck I am looking at when I come down!
