Default Forrest Creek, Parrish, Florida

Can anyone give me information about Forrest Creek in Parrish, Florida?

Neal Communities are building Key West homes. The builder says they are building them at cost and just making profit on the land so they can keep their crews working.

Do a search on this forum about Forrest Creek. I seem to remember someone saying they have CDD fees there, as well as your HOA dues. That would be a consideration for you. Also, the homes they are talking about are very close together and not the top of the line materials. Mainly cottage style homes.

However, Pat Neal has been building in this area for a very long time and has a good reputation. The best thing to do would be to go there and see for yourself. Everybody is different. You may not mind being very close with your neighbor, but you may also decide that for a little more money (in the long run) you would like to have a bit of land around you.

Bottom line, check it out for yourself. There's nothing like getting a "feel" for the neighborhood and the house itself.

Such timing! I was just there yesterday. The Key-west style are their low end, and designed with the garage in back (so pretty much no back yard). Those three Key-west models will be very close together. And with no driveway in front, they may attract a lot of on-street parking.

That community also has a middle and high end series of models. I really liked one of the middle ones - fantastic interior space starting at about 203k. I'm not an expert, but I thought the homes were very well built.

But the HOA/CDD fees are significant (and those always seem to go up). About 1200/year for the small houses and 1500/year for the larger ones.

And it is in the middle of no-where (guess that depends on your point of reference). About 5 miles off of 75.

I would suggest going there, walking through all the models, getting the info.

They also have a web-page, but it doesn't yet have much information.

If you go, consider posting your impressions.

There are many nice subdivisions in Parrish. I would stay away from any CDD area! Try out Ancient oaks in the Southern end (thanks Paula) for more land.. Kingsfield is nice too but yard size can vary. We are very much looking to move to parrish and have done our homework, if I can help let me know..
