Tampa gets new nonstop daily flight to Salt Lake City on Delta

Few weeks old news, but still worth noting. A few major routes that TPA didn't have were San Francisco, Salt Lake City, San Diego, Seattle, and Portland. Now, they have all but 2 of those.

Was actually surprised that SLC didn't exist before as it's a Delta hub and Delta seems to do very well out of TPA. I hear the SF route by United has also been a success.

Can't think of many holes now as far as domestic flights go out of TPA. They have obviously done a very good job in the last few years attracting new routes. I don't have the numbers but it wouldn't shock me if passenger traffic has had more of a rise in the last few years than it did throughout the last decade.

Good news but would be better if they can add a non-stop to Paris!

Would love to see them snag Volaris for non-stops to Mexico. We have been driving to Orlando MCO to catch Volaris non-stops to Guadalajara.

Yes, it will be nice when not having to drive to Orlando or having relatives think they are next door to each others because Orlando is still beating them on domestic routes.

I would really like to see this, especially Cancun. I'd also like to see flight to Punta Cana. We had vacationed in these places frequently, both were direct route when we lived in Chicago. Now in Tampa it should be such a quick flight especially Punta Cana, flight actually takes longer with some routes actually connecting in Chicago, now that's just plan silly.

Except i wish TIA doesn't bribe an airline using tax payers money to start service by throwing "incentives" at them - you get the gist.....

Another vote for direct Cancun and Paris route. Though we enjoy the cheap fare from TPA to DC and Dallas to visit family.

Competition for London would be great that route is SOOOO expensive! Dublin totally, Paris, definitely, but a long flight to the Emirates which could connect us to far east would be great too. I'm not sure we can get a plane to fly from here suitable to fly all the way to Oz or China yet!
