it goes from 5 lanes to 2, and 40% of the traffic wants to take the single lane exit for the veterans and they clog it up trying to cut over.

How much do you pay in tolls for each month and for a year for this convenience? Obviously using a toll road.

Well, you see... We don't have to worry about traffic because you always have the option to pay money!

I'll also say that, unless you're living right next to the toll road, there's no way you're getting out of Brandon during rush hour in 15 minutes.

not enough information provided by the original poster. Most of the burbs are for families with kids or older population I think. But yes I do know some couples without kids that live in the new planned communities cause they like new, fresh, modern, and etc. lol.. There is a place called Fish Hawk that is nice. It is far East but Im sure with the toll road you will be downtown quickly around 7am minus an accident. Another one is Westchase. I think that one is closer to airport, bars/restaurants in Tampa, and closer to beaches. Carrolwood is an older nice suburb, but if you looking for a new house, wont find that there.

Bull. There's a new development built off of Lowell and another one currently being built alone. There are also town homes being built off of Pittsfield. This is all around the corner from my parents' house alone.

Very hard to find to find in Carrolwood. Thanks for clarifying.

Which is why I said West Brandon, so yes I am by the toll which is why i live there. So Yes way 15 minutes is no problem. I would pay twice what the toll cost just to avoid Malfunction Junction in Tampa.
30 yrs ago I saw the traffic patterns that were developing along Causeway Blvd. East Brandon, Valrico and Lithia are very pretty areas in Hillsborough County. I considered living out there but reconsidered once I took into account traffic and quality of life. So 15/20 minutes, I am out of Brandon and past malfunction Junction and back up to 275 south. Life is good

Luckily, I don't need to pay that toll every day because I don't travel that way for work everyday. My work schedule is different everyday and every week. I get to travel all over Tampa Bay area. Unlike most of the people that take the Veterans tollway from pasco. I don't have the crosstown as my only option to go to Pinellas unlike they have to when going to tampa.

Well, more like four lanes to two, but it is a pavement engineering nightmare. This is "flor-i-duh". Took them years to open up second speedpass toll lanes on the skyway.

Maybe one day our local traffic engineers will learn about the "zipper merge" to efficiently flow eventual traffic onto that one lane veterans exit:

Will the "zipper merge" help traffic flow on the roads? - CBS News

I take that route once a week. Try to hit that area around 2pm, and it's still iffy.

Three new developments off the top of my head make new housing in Carrollwood "very hard to find?"

How many new developments do you need in order for it to be easy?
