My family and I are planning to move to Tampa Bay next summer and this summer we are visiting the area to check out various neighborhoods. We are moving from a somewhat rural area of Northern Kentucky. My husband and I both work for Charter Spectrum and plan to transfer - me to Riverview and him to St. Pete. Our budget is pretty low as we hope to stay around 100k. We are hoping for a safe neighborhood and after searching realtor.com, neighborhoodscout.com, and sites such as those, it appears our best bet might be: Lithia, Valrico, Palmetto, Ruskin, Brandon, Plant City, or Riverview areas.

Any recommendations and feedback on how these areas vs one another? I HIGHLY value and appreciate all and any information you can give me!!!

You might have more housing for your price range in the Palmetto, Ruskin and Plant City areas. Plant City would be quite a drive. Palmetto and Ruskin would be best for your husband using the Sunshine Sky way bridge for work.
They will be more rural as well compared to the other areas on your list. Most of the areas (except less for Plant City) will be using Brandon as there main shopping/entertainment hub.

Agree with MrV, Palmetto and Ruskin is probably given the budget and job locations.
