Miami finished 2nd in their division in 2017. Ranked 28th in attendance out of 30 teams.

20 games back, losing more than they won (77-85) - not a contender, not even clsoe

Sub 500 ball shows how weak the division is, would be 4th place in other divisions, including AL. May be insight as to why attendance ranks so low.

I haven't been to Miami's stadium, but I hear you on location. Chicago has Cubs and Sox. Even when Cubs are dead last they still outdraw Sox who would be in first.

Wrigley has several things going for it being close to mass transit (short block walk from the "L") and decent neighborhood. They've just improved parking recently too. People will stay long after games in local bars. Sox play in where parking is ample and easy to get to short ride off the expressway, but park is in less than "OK" neighborhood. Anyone who goes will leave right after the game. So I can agree with you on location, location, location.

A bit dated, but even more so today with improvements made to Wrigley recently.
Compared With Cubs, White Sox Can’t Win for Winning

I attended a game a couple years ago with a bunch of kids (local baseball team, my buddy was the coach). Walking through Little Havana there were some bums hanging around a "urban base camp." Kid next to me says it smells (it was urine) and then follows it up with why do they have their ice tea outside (clearly milk jugs with urine in them)......I said I don't know, lets keep walking!

Highlight was the Clevelander bar in left field:

The county will offer the Rays a location in the Channel District-Ybor City area bordered by 15th Street and Channelside Drive to the east and west and Fourth Avenue and Adamo Drive to the north and south. All that property east, west, north, south of that plot will need to be bulldozed and made into parking and restaurants......gotta clean up that mess down there.

And no, it won't be an open stadium and will most likely have a view of the town skyline if possible.....the homeplate ought to be in the northeast and centerfield southwest of the pic below.

Pretty much exactly where I thought it should go - gotta expect traffic unless there's some major infrastructure improvements and rail maybe.
