Smile Which commute to Macdill is worse?

I am looking at a possible reassignment from NJ to Macdill AFB in the next few months, and I am trying to determine which commute would be shorter; the New Tampa area or the Fishhawk Ranch area? My wife and I have been looking online at some of the Master planned communties in those areas, as well as Brandon and Riverview, but without knowing the area it is so hard to narrow down the search. We have a young daughter so good schools will be a important factor. We are looking for a newer home for under 375K.

Thanks for your help

Larry

Hi Larry, My wife and I helped a couple move to the area that was working on the base at McDill. The best area for them was the Riverview, Gibsonton and Appollo Beach area. The commute would be north on I75 and west on the Crosstown Expressway. The New Tampa area is a nice area as well, but the morning commute may be a little bit more. :-). In both areas you will be able to find nice housing in that price range.

We live between Sun City Center and Riverview and it takes my husband 30-40 minutes on the Crosstown to get to MacDill depending on traffic.

We just PCS'd from Alaska and we have a FANTASTIC realtor team that were absolutely AMAZING when I needed to close on our home while alone when my husband left for Texas. I was now alone with 2 small kids and needed to do everything house related without my hubby. They took wonderful care of me and the kids and went way beyond any other Realtors I have used in the past!
