It is much more than someone being out of shape, or failing to condition/acclimate themselves.

There are those who do everything you have mentioned and still come away failing to handle it. Just stop being so ignorant. It's obvious you are now in a phase where Tampa can do no wrong for you.
He thinks he is a bad boy. I sure would love to meet.

Downtown Tampa, Hyde Park, Bayshore Blvd, are all part of the city of Tampa. Nobody would expect them to compare to a suburban area. Westchase, New Tampa and Wesley Chapel same old, same old suburban sprawl as the rest of florida. Sorry.

Sorry about what? Don't be sorry. You too, feel free to leave if Tampa isn't the place for you. I don't understand how you can be so miserable yet continue to live here. There are a lot of other options if you melt away from the heat, or hate how the area is organized, the bad baseball stadium, etc. You folks so miserable about the area need to form up a support group and commiserate w/ each other about how lousy this place is.

You got me.

Pulled me into some stupid argument for absolutely no reason. Wondered what the purpose of your original question about poor development of certain areas was all about it.

Whatever your point is....

We've got a lot to be happy about and should feel lucky with what we have here in the TB area.

I think the fitness argument is cliche and mostly a cop-out for people to use when they can't accept that some people don't like to suffer through several months of nonstop disgusting swamp air and scorching temps every year. Some of us are able to do something about it (ie - move). Some aren't. Some are just too ignorant to do anything about it. That's just the way it is. Just like a few folks get tired of people complaining about the summers, others get tired of obvious cheerleaders spreading their nonsense rhetoric to try and counter people airing their grievances.
