Is this a realistic ok commute? Need to drive 4 days a week from SP to USF area work 7am to 5pm. Do I need to change my living location and quick?
thank for any advice

Its a miserable commute at the best of times, at 7am and 5pm its going to be an ordeal you wont like.
Heres a video of a drive from Tampa to St Pete non rush hour.=

Thank you for your reply. I would leave house probably 6am, I could leave work at 345pm or 6pm to lessen the commute time??? It looks pretty long drive on the video. It doesn't seem like people carpool much on this route.

That might be the absolute worst commute possible in the area - absolute worst......it'll take awhile just to get out of St Pete and be on the bridge and you're at the mercy of bridges backing up on a daily basis......best to not even look at homes anywhere that gives you a poor commute.

Unless you work on a transfer to the Bay Pines VA - well, then you'd be in great shape, wouldn't you?

It will be solid traffic. And the Frankenstein bridge has a wreck on it almost every day ray. At least take the Gandy bridge randy.

Emphatically, yes. As others have stated, you have picked one of the worst possible commutes there is in the area.

I would rather shoot myself than drive that route with my C6 Vette brett. Just a 5 mile drive on US19 about kills me. I plan to just sell the cars soon and not drive anymore. Sure would save lots of money honey.

Thanks for all your responses! WOW. I live in San Francisco and have made a 30 mile commute for work in the past, but it sounds like traffic there is the worst?! Yes a transfer to bay pines would be my ultimate goal but obtaining a job there could mean another year or two at best... Don't people do carpool or rideshares?

Nope. We don't like or trust each other enough to do anything like that.

If I was intent on making the trip, I'd get up at oh dark thirty, run 4 miles in a safe area like adjacent USF campus or find a fitness center near work, and get in a good a.m. workout. Not sure how I'd handle the evening rush hour....
