Certain professions you can't have much fudge factor....surgeons, nurses, police, nuclear plant, technicians, air traffic control, airline pilots, many others. Life or death stuff - can't tolerate even the smallest error.

You can't imagine how appreciative I am of every single police officer I encounter. I don't even know their ranks, positions, but they get my appreciation. I'd shake their hands, pat them on their backs, give them the shirt off my backs.even the crosswalk guard as I cross Columbus Blvd going to Bucs games.

But there appears to be some Mark Fuhrmans in the ranks who need to be corrected. Can't tolerate that stuff. There's a few in every city, state with the mindset to shoot first, ask questions later.

Irony: the guy who ran a campaign saying America was no longer great (MAGA) and who led the birther movement for years saying that he had proof that our recognized elected leader wasn't legit because he was born in Kenya now is being applauded for all of this Flag Waving, Anthem singing.......makes you wonder about the overall intelligence of the America citizen.

The way I see it, these NFL players are trying to make their country great for all Americans. I applaud them for trying. Now take it to the off season and go out to police precincts, schools, city councils and speak up there.

They would of had the whole country behind them if they had started there. Instead they insulted half the country with their hate for America. Why wait for the off season?

No disrespect involved - of course.

Protected free speech. Right?
School rules are school rules. In the absence of rules (ie standing for the pledge), the leave it up to each student (and parent)....

Wonder how many posters in the thread have an American Flag in front of their home. I have since the day I moved here. Rightwingernuts don't have a monopoly on loving the country and standing up for the Flag. I'm a MODERATE who respects justice and fairness for all.
