I think so. Hate to see him go, but I'd look toward a non-division team.....wonder if the Angels have any tradeable talent. It' would be interesting to see him in a Dodgers, Angels uniform. Don't see Turner (LAD) going anywhere though......Ariz? SF?

The Rays will need to trend upward in the American League East Division in the number of wins. The American League East Division is mostly competitive between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees.

This past season they improve by 12 games. They'll be cutting salary though so hard to say with new call ups from Durham who happened to win AAA Championship.

The Rays need to cut salary by unloading contracts of underachievers. On the flip side, they need to be buyers in talent to upgrade positions on the field. The long-term answer is not being dependent on the farm.

Every player is getting a raise or will be traded. Longo is the only player whose salary is large enough to be worth dealing. Several starters will go from league minimum to a few million in arbitration. The money has to come from somewhere. Lord knows it won't come from ticket sales.

The Rays ranked ahead of the Braves (who celebrated a new stadium this year), the playoff bound Astros and Dodgers (whose contracts are terrible), as well as the Rangers, Mets, Marlins, and Angels to name a few large market fanbases.
