In my view, Carrollwood is just about the best neighborhood in Tampa, but that's just me.

That's what I'm looking for, boring. LOL

Plenty of areas fit that. Still need budget and commute info.

Haven't been to the area myself yet but I have heard that Downtown St Petersburg and the central Tampa area has some VERY LIVELY sections...
You should pull up a website comparing crime data per capita. Take a city like Dallas where everyone owns guns vs NYC. You might be surprised.

I'm not sure if you think Downtown Tampa is really expensive... Or Bayshore is really cheap. Either way, they're nowhere near the same price range. Neither are the islands, but I'll let that slide.

Read the post again. I have no problem with people that think downtown Tampa may improve, but the "triple your money... guaranteed" thing is nonsense.

Once upon a time I made the mistake of investing in "Ybor Square". Pushed on us by my now ex-wife's law firm. It was stupid, and I'd like to advise others to avoid stupid investments.

Because you made a mistake doesn't mean every subsequent investment in the downtown district is a loser.....

Pfft, at one time I owned Magellan through my company's 401K - it was a dog.

This "Tampa is the city of the future meme" has been going on since the late 1970's. IBM fell for it, then got the heck of dodge.

If you like the city of Tampa, go for it, but people who claim you will triple your money - guaranteed, should be ridiculed and then ignored.

Again, where in that post did you see me compare Tampa living to NYC?

Let me guess... Another misplaced New Yorker who moved down doing no research and now "hates" this city and refuses to move back?

Again (I can't believe I have to ask this again), where did I make any claims about New York living?

I can see you're going to provide a lot to this forum.
