That's pretty much what every business on E. Davis Blvd is, a restaurant or bar?
There's a Publix directly across the bridge. You could walk to it if you wanted.

Thank you! Basically I want to live in a safe neighborhood where there is still stuff to do. And thank you for your previous post as well

If you are finding affordable apartments on Davis Island - GO FOR IT! I am originally from Tampa, IMO it is the nicest place to be. Safe, near the water, things to do and close to downtown. Ybor would be the bottom of the list, good to visit but I would not live there, especially for the running at night.

Thanks, I appreciate it. That’s exactly what I was thinking!

As I recall, there's a running track in South Tampa or Hyde Park that's open to the public...and it seems like 'the place to be' esp. on Tues. nights!

Yup! Ybor has more cameras than any area of Tampa ever will. There are more police there (to deal with the high population of people every weekend). The crime has dropped dramatically. That said, there are still some areas that are kind of sketchy. North of I4 comes to mind. That said, if you still to south of 7th Ave, you should be fine.

I'm looking in Ybor as we speak.

I was actually looking at The Quarter. I think that would be the only place I'd be interested in living in around that area. There are some affordable to buy or rent. I'm leery of N of I4 and sound of 7th. But I am going to visit. That's really the only way I will get to know what's good for me.

Why would you be leery south of 7th?

Because the crime map still showed robberies and break ins in that area. Not as bad as north into VM. But like I said, I just have to go there and see for myself, the vibe I get. I’ve lived in bigger cities before and live in some sketchy areas, but that was when I was young and didn’t care as much. I’m on assignment temporarily and living in a so/so area, and I’ve been doing ok. But I’m moving from Freeport, FL where everyone knew you, the community was close, and you really did’t habe to lock your doors. It was like living in the past. I’m gonna miss it, but I hope to find a community like that to be a part of and involved in.

Yes. This is typical of every big city. If you'd like that safety net, you should probably look in the suburbs.
