There are so many people who live in the Tampa Bay area who only make 9 or 10 dollars an hour at their job. How are these rent rules fair? If someone wants to move, they don't qualify to live anywhere in the Tampa Bay area.

What's stopping you from getting a better job? You can complain about your situation which won't get you anywhere or you can take steps whether through education or vocational training to improve your situation?

Truck Drivers for example are hiring anybody right now. It's not glamorous work and can be very difficult but pays up to $50,000 a year and they are desperate for workers.

It's a hot rental market, period.

There's less risk of problems getting paid each month if your tenants have higher income. There seems to be no shortage of people looking to rent, so it's a landlord's market one could say...

It's just that simple. The requirement exists simply because it can, due to supply and demand.

This is nothing new. What's happened is rents have gone up to the point where many places are out of the reach of hourly wage earners.

What about the landlords? They have a right to be sure that the person/people signing the lease are capable of paying the rent.

I see a number of rentals in my neighborhood where the occupants are clearly not family members. I suspect there are several wage earners living there that are all on the lease.

If this requirement is so onerous, why aren't there more people on the street? People must be finding a way to adapt...

It’s the sort of law that destroys economies
Telling people how much they can charge -who they can hire -and how much to pay will kill any business

Sure not a problem in west Pasco. Rent small 2bedroom dumps for under 700 smackers by the 1000's. All of these run down hoods are section 8 and low class renters.

Wages will have to increase to keep up with the skyrocketing costs of living in Tampa Bay.

Be patient.
Construction companies are building apartment complexes like there's no tomorrow.
Soon the market will be over saturated and rental prices will drop.
Not just Tampa but other cities as well.
