You could also look in Brookridge or High Point in Spring Hill - Brooksville area. Both are very close to two hospitals, restaurants, shopping etc. Additionally, both are gated communities with homes well within your budget. I have friends living in each who have been there for quite some time and are happy.

Isn't that in sinkhole alley?

Not really. Just had a freak cold winter in 2010 and farmers pumped the ground dry sly.

Condos can be big buildings, townhouses or free standing houses. We bought one in 1987, I gave away the lawn mower and haven't missed it yet. We have moved twice since, but each time to a condo in a 55+ community. No interest in ever owning a house again.

I retired at 63, but that was 21 years ago. Never again will you be as young as you are right now. It is prudent to plan ahead. If you go to a 55+ community you will be a "youngster", but in time you become an"older". Been there, done that.

They seem to be cropping up all over the state but seem concentrated in the Tampa area. Thanks for links.

and THIS is exactly why people come on here to ask, instead of just using google.
