It was the "snowstorm" of 1989 when Florida decided to close I-75 due to a few snowflakes. Driving from Atlanta to the Tampa Bay area, I just navigated my way to US-19 and down to my parents home. It took 18 hours and this was just prior to my purchase of my first mobile phone and thankfully, be a USAF pilot at the time, always had quality road maps in the car for just that situation.
