There is an interesting event called Cafe Con Tampa that meets on Friday mornings from 8-9 in the meeting area upstairs at Oxford Exchange. It's worthwhile for learning about local developments and finding ways to get involved in the community.

So I know that St. Pete Rising is probably the site with the most active and relevant news about St. Pete Urban Developments. That said, is there a similar site for following up on Tampa projects/developments and urban news? If so, would appreciate seeing it. Actually even for some of the other nodes of the region (at least, primary county seats, Sarasota, Clearwater, etc.)

Some facts on USF's improvement over time (2009-2019):
-4 year graduation rate (43 to 60 percent)
-Research Expenditures (382->571 Million), 96 patents, 7th among American universities, 16th worldwide
-Student housing capacity doubles to 6,500

I'm a UCF guy, but still root for the overall success of USF. This is good news for the region.

Thoughts on these? Looks like I found a pretty decent source for Tampa urban news in 83 Degrees Media.

-Lykes Lane, Tampa
-El Centro Street, Saint Pete Beach

Haven't done any updates in a little bit, but the opening of this place looks interesting!

Would anyone potentially be interested in a TB Urbanist meetup?

Potentially-Central Ave section of St Petersburg or Ybor City?

Then checking out something new to the area? Restaurant, museum, street or parkscape, or otherwise?

Midtown Tampa coming into its own.

There are other links but I mean the relevant sites are out there to find them. I don’t know that there’s anything else especially groundbreaking, just openings and such. Feel free to discuss or share additional links. I would be on here posting with more regularity, but I just got back from Peru, and I am trying to manage a full time job teaching at start of year, dissertation writing, and potentially debuting a podcast so quite busy ATM.

Hey guys-normally when I share a link, it's just, oh this is something that could be useful or interesting just once. But this... this is a GAME CHANGER. I hate to say that it sort of makes this little thread here obsolete... but it almost does! Or at very least I guess it changes the discussion from guessing about what's happening to perhaps having legit live screen about what does, and the ramifications these projects might have from a larger scale.
