hi ... thanks for your input......what about the water / sewage system status ?
- city or well H2O , for most / or ? all homes ..hassle of the assessment $$ ? problem ...i have heard about punta gorda , being a " small , quiet and slow-paced " environment made up mostly of retirees , but the homes being very [ or at least were ] quite expensive [ > $ 300,000 ] ..any comments ? ...

[ p.s. i see that you were born in Australia ....i have relatives there , , in Adelaide , and Melbourne , and was in transit for 2 weeks in Sidney ,as a teenager , :: studied for 2 yrs in the kiwi -land , your neighbour , New Zealand , in High School , in New Plymouth , North Island.. aaahhh, the good old days ! ... good-day , mate , or is ' sheila ' being more , the accurate term , BUT still, NOT the appropriate term ? ! ... i don't mean to offend you !... i'm talking about the days <and the words used then > when i was " a kid "] ]...have a good day ...cheers

pervinder, I just read this thread and I had a couple of questions. Will your two daughters be moving with you? And what breed is your dog? (In Florida, the cost of homeowner insurance depends on the breed, and some apartment/condo communities disallow certain breeds.)

Thanks. Based on your OP, I think you might find something you like in Pinellas County. There is a lot of inventory to choose from in your price range. In addition to Cariad's suggestions which were good IMO, I would also add Bellair and Seminole in south Pinellas as well.

I've also heard that Englewood is a hidden gem, but I don't have any supporting facts.

P.S. Love my yellow Lab!
