Does anyone have any information on this school? I know of it because a friend attended there in the 60's, for high school. Now that I'm moving to St Pete in the very near future, I'm exploring employment possibilities, as I'm retired Navy. Thoughts, suggestions, comments?

My name is Andrew. I am in 6th grade (Middle Division) and i attend this school. It has changed ALOT since the 60's. It is a great place to send your kids. The website is Admiral Farragut Academy if you need to contact the school in any way. I am on the Drill Team and it is really fun and they have plenty of clubs, activities and, after school activities. The woman in charge of the the Middle Division in CDR. Vernine, she also teaches 6th grade History. I hope that helped.

I certainly do. I used to work there as recently as this past week. It's a school that does not value students or teachers. To quote the Headmaster at a welcome back to school address: "If you don't like it here, no problem, I have plenty of resumes on my desk.'

Students are a source of revenue. Period. They are scheduled for classes that only
'plugs' them in. For example, an international ESOL student just learning to improve her English is placed in a French 2 class. Never having had any French at all. This is all too common.

Do not consider. It is not worth the high price tag.
