I want to bike along the pathway by the bay just as you're leaving Clearwater on Gulf to Bay. I know you can park on the sand by the bay, but you have to feed the meter, and biking multiple times a week there can ring up quite a bill at the end of the month. There's no real way to bike over from Clearwater unless you want to bike down Gulf to Bay, then cross the huge intersection at Hwy 19, which I don't want to do. Is there somewhere else on the Clearwater side of the bridge to park so I can unload my bike?

Used to be able to park free by Coachman Park. Is that not the case anymore?

(Haven't lived there for a few years now)

Clearwater residents can get an annual or semi-annual parking pass which includes the lot you mentioned (and may others), but the price is pretty steep.

You used to be able to park for free in a small unpaved lot next to the NSU entrance (east of Bayshore Blvd) but I don't know if that's possible anymore.

You can keep driving east on the causeway. Theres a parking lot just before the big bridge which (last I checked) was free. And it has a convenient U-turn to head back towards Clearwater. But it fills up, so finding a spot could be a problem.

Other than that I think you would need to find some place on or near Bayshore where you can park, then ride down to the trail.

Exactly where to / from? If you're talking Courtney Campbell Causeway Trail (which is an awesome bike ride), I know where you can park free.

If you are cycling you can park at Kapok park and ride a short distance on the trails to the causeway.
