Actually you can be ignorant and be a New Yorker too. You can also be an open minded redneck. I have met a lot of both. Not directing anything at anyone in particular, but just saying...no need to degenerate into a flame war. If he thinks it's a zoo full of Latins and NYers, he thinks it's a zoo full of Latins and NYers. That's his reality and people's realities are different. I personally think he an xenophobe, but if he wants to be, let him be that way.

I grew up in the Tampa Bay area and now live in South Florida. I've also lived in Omaha, NE as well for over 10 years. That was kinda funny that someone mentioned that earlier. I would probably never want to move back to the Tampa Bay area ever again. I found that many people to be pretty obtuse and do not accept diversity as much as South Florida. It does have that midwestern mentality and not necessarily the midwestern work ethic either. I'll stick with the zoo down here in South Florida and what it has to offer.
