The county has run out of land to build upon. I can see parts of the county "urbanizing" some of the suburban areas with corner stores, in fill projects or trying to develop a Main Street area. Or tearing down existing older car dependent development and replacing it with something walkable or denser as we move in to the future.

Pinellas County has enough difficulties with the water/sewer infrastructure. Adding a denser population will make it so much worse. Better hope city planners don't do that.

I can see something incorporated with US19 such as light rail but there would have to be a comprehensive and effective system of coordinating transit at the transfer points to make it successful. Look to a total flop like SunRail in Orlando for a lesson of what not to do.

Overall, I don’t think it’s really needed. The county isn’t that urban outside St. Pete, the beaches, and downtown Clearwater.

A light-rail line going down Central Ave connecting the bay to the beach could have some utility.

They have been building some really dense apartment/condo type communities along the sides of 19 Between Clearwater and St Pete.

They should be finishing the Gateway project this year linking 19 and Mcmullen to 275.

I predict they'll just keep building up those high density communities along the highways

It is already the county with the highest density
