Well I was all set to move back to NY but scared out of my little mind about how expensive everything is...now my fiance has finally agreed to return to Florida since he's drowning in debt after returning to NY this past November (to be near his kids). So we're starting all over down here after all.

I'm unloading my condo in New Port Richey since the area is not-so-good, lots more crime since we arrived here 2 years ago.

We both love Dunedin, areas of St Pete, Tarpon Springs, and some parts of Tampa. We want to rent a house for a year and decide where we want to end up, take our time looking around. The only thing we know for sure is that we want our very own in-ground pool. I'm working in Tampa, in the Northdale area, he'll probably end up working in Tampa as well. Neither of us really knows our way around down here much, or which areas are good and which are bad. Our realtor has suggested Odessa. I know ZIP about Odessa.

Anyone have any thoughts? All are welcome and appreciated.

I know several people who are very happy living at Ivy Lake Estates. What questions do you have? Since you're familiar with Tarpon / Dunedin, drive Tarpon Springs Road (east) to Gunn Highway (south) and see what you think. It's a really pretty area through Keystone, too. At the Fox's Corner red light, go east on Mobley to South on Hutchison and east on Newkirk (just past Northwest Elementary) and voila, you're in Northdale!

I recently had a house built in Odessa and I am very happy with my choice. Good schools, safe, family friendly environment and close to the Suncoast and shopping. A little bit more rural, which is fine with me because coming from Philadelphia, the last thing I wanted was congestion.

Oh boy. Well I saw a huge huge wow of a house in Odessa and a lovely house in a lovely area of St Pete...and ended up signing a lease on a gorgeous 2 bedroom/2 bath apartment in Westchase which was half the price of the houses and I'll enjoy one year there while I look around to find a place to buy. Whew what a busy day.

My apartment (haven't lived in an apartment in years!) has a lovely "Preserve" view, and a huge wonderful kitchen (ohhhhh I'm so happy) and a huge "garden" tub in the master bath...and a valet trash service! Heaven, I'm in Heaven....
