Driving time from Wyndham Lakes in Odessa to
the area around Habana and W. Walters.... We are in the process of moving and I need to take my son who is severely handicapped to the area around Habana and W. Walters. We need a relatively new home (after 1996) because of the need for our son to have access to large open floor plans. We want a pool and a "turn key" house with over 2200 square feet for around 300,000. All of the newer homes are seem to be built toward the north. We found a house with everything and more than we want. It is in Odessa - my son needs to be taken daily to the area I mentioned above. I need to be at work by 7:15 am and will drop him off first. I have mapquested the directions and it looks like it can be done in 35-40 minutes. Is this do-able in the morning if I leave around 6:15-6:30? And does anyone know of any newer housing additions closer? Thank you in advance.

Where in Odessa? Would you be close to the Veterans, Dale Mabry or Gunn?

Thanks for your reply. The driving directions show Gunn and Veterans. Would we be in a big traffic jam if we left at approximately 6:15-6:30 am and then went back at approximately 4:00 pm?

You should be OK during the AM. Traffic on Waters is pretty heavy by 7AM so you want to get off of Veterans before that time. There are other ways to get where you need to go, you can try different ways once you are settled in.
The afternoon traffic will be heavier especially during school.

Thanks. I am going to be teaching in the Carrollwood area so I hope I have a window of time before the big rush hour starts in the pm. I haven't communted that long of distance before so I am a little nervous about it.

I use to take a lot of the back roads when I lived in Odessa. I would rather spend an extra 5 minutes or so, than spend it waiting in traffic. Get a good map and you can find several 'shortcuts' from Odessa to Dale Mabry
