Default looking for pet friendly home rental also

My husband and I are also moving to the Tampa area. I have been trying to find properties in the Great Carrollwood area. We want a home. We too, have 2 pets. Only they are small, (a pug and a chihuahua). I cannot seem to have any luck finding pet friendly perspective landlords. Our dogs are extremely well trained. They do not potty in the home. EVER!! But I understand the landlord perspective of being cautious. I hate falling into the circle of having to convince somebody we are telling the truth, .. it tends to be that way with tenants!.. But we have even offered to sign a paper (legal) stating any damage done by our animals we will commit to repairing or replacing at our cost. That is how confident I am with my pets. I am home with them 24-7 pretty much as I dont work, so they really are paid attention to in all aspects of the matter. Any idea where else we can look for properties, other than realtor.com and craigslist? I have tried going to direct agent sites. But then they hound you to death to try to get you to buy and we are not ready to do this just yet, as we want to take our time and become familiar with the different areas of greater Tampa. We want land when we get ready to purchase, and we are being relocated shortly.

Anyway, when you get here, at least check it out!
We didn't like it. It was old and the area didn't seem very safe.

We've had good luck posting what we wanted on Craigslist and having people email us.

It won't be the dogs that are the problem. Almost every apartment building we looked at took two dogs. It will be the short amount of time. I'd check into extended stay hotels.

Small dogs only. I think only up to 25/30 pounds.

Most HOA communities have pet restrictions and in all he once where I owe properties it is limited to 3 pets per property so you should be fine but you have to pay a non refundable pet fee x 3.

I never had any issues with my tenants and their dogs or cats I have 2 dogs my self maybe that is why.
Maybe you should try Wesley Chapel if that is convinient for you since I know that many tenants have pets. The only thing is that you have to check on the financial status of the home owners since I have to LL in my neighborhood with good tenants and both are in foreclosure right now and the tenants have to move real soon. I guess it will be harder to find properties to rent because of the mortgage defaults so many people need rentals and that makes the prices go up.

Check out craigslist.com. That is tourist season. You should be able to find a place around St. Pete area, but it won't be cheap.
