But I understand the landlord perspective of being cautious. I hate falling into the circle of having to convince somebody we are telling the truth, .. it tends to be that way with tenants!.. But we have even offered to sign a paper (legal) stating any damage done by our animals we will commit to repairing or replacing at our cost. That is how confident I am with my pets. I am home with them 24-7 pretty much as I dont work, so they really are paid attention to in all aspects of the matter. Any idea where else we can look for properties, other than realtor.com and craigslist? I have tried going to direct agent sites. But then they hound you to death to try to get you to buy and we are not ready to do this just yet, as we want to take our time and become familiar with the different areas of greater Tampa. We want land when we get ready to purchase, and we are being relocated shortly.
there's local.com, oodle.com, listedlocal.com, among many and there's one rental posted that allows animals and will even care for your animals during the day or while you are away, which is located in the Odessa/Lutz area, just N. of Carrollwood.

Just noticed the date... geesh, sorry but if you are up for a new lease and are interested in a place just slightly north of Carrollwood in the Odessa/Lutz area, with no problem renting to pet owners and would want to buy in a few years, do as other's have said and check out craigslist.. hint hint...

Does anyone have any views on Sheridan Woods townhomes in zip 33611? Is this a safe area and a good place to live?

FLORIDIA BOUND: It's a decent place. The houses are small and it has a lot of multiple unit rentals, which is more conducive to housing temporary military, since the Airforce base is right there. I don't know about Sheridan Wood specifically but I am sure it too, houses a lot of military. The homes offer a more economic lifestyle, since they are small and priced reasonably. Of course this makes it more of a transcient neighborhood with basically two year time windows and with it being comprised of mostly military, the crime rate stays in check. The closer you get to the bay, the better the area and just North of Gandy Blvd, the atmoshphere changes and you get into a very affluent area. The area you are in question of, is situated at the end of one of the most beautiful and well known stretches of Tampa, called Bayshore Blvd, which runs along the bay. Hope this helps.
