Default How about making this a Tampa-St. Pete forum?

Or a Tampa-St. Pete- Clearwater titled forum?

That's a good idea. I've seen many questions about St. Pete posted in the Tampa forum.

I will post a poll in the main Florida forum (with a link in this forum) about whether we should add a separate St. Petersburg forum or be clearer that this forum also covers St. Petersburg.

Edit: You can vote now here: http://www.city-data.com/forum/flori...sburg-sub.html.

I voted for the 'ST Pete' forum, I think it might be nice if Clearwater was included in that title. I feel Tampa can stand alone as far as the amount of activity it gets. I have been wishing for this since I joined C-D! Thank You all.

I voted for a separate forum. There is no doubt that St Pete is vastly different from Tampa. It is no longer just a city that is close to Tampa. It has much more positive things to offer, IMO. I have lived here for almost 20 years, and the progress this city has made is amazing. While one could argue that the public school system and crime rate in parts of the city could be improved, that is the case in virtually every city in the country. When you look at the housing costs of other waterfront communities in the state, St Pete compares very favorably. While the housing market has taken a hit during this current downturn, I feel that it will really come on strong when things do take an uptick, whenever that will be, but it is certainly going to happen.
