How about Seaport Channelside apartments? Anyone know anything about it...safe area, grocery/retail close by? It would be like .83 miles from my work.

A buddy of mine lives there, very nice, brand new apartments, state of the art amenities, pools, fitness, etc...the streetcar is just a block away tot ake you to Ybor or Channelside and Downtown Convention Center/Arena areas. There is a good Deli/Cafe called Zelda's a block away, most everything else will be about 5 blocks(the Channelside entertainment complex with shops and restaurants); nearest grovery store is Publix on Bayshore and Platt which is about a mile, and again you have Ybor dining, arts, theater, nightlife about 1/2 mile away as well. In addition to the streetcar, there is also the green trolley that runs throughout Channelside area through downtown Tampa and Harbour Island.

What tampaguy03 said. Honestly I can't think of much else to add to that.

We looked there are few months ago. We loved the stained concrete floors, although thought some of the other features in the units were not as nice as they could have been. Pricing was very good though. We ended up getting a place at the Ventana (1 block S & E or Seaport) and absolutely love living in the Channelside area. The north part (Seaport, Ventana, Grand Central) is particularly nice because you can jump right on Kennedy to go west, right on 60 to go east and you are minutes from Ybor and Channelside. My wife and I walk to Channelside at least once a week. Can't beat that.... guess I did have stuff to add

Do you have pricing info for the locations you mentioned? I just moved into the area and have a temporary place at Gandy and Westshore until June 18th. I would like to move into the Channelside/Ybor area as I work out in Brandon, but still want to be close to what Channelside/Ybor has to offer. Any recommendations would be great.

Thanks!

Obviously, the bigger, higher, etc... the more $. 1Br runs 1k/mo. I got the 1Br w/ den, it's just an extra smaller bedroom for my 11yo son when he comes over. The 1Br w/ den, 1st floor, runs $1075/mo + water/trash $41 + Fios (you gota get their Fios) @ $44. Total is $1164/mo. The average age of tennant is early 30's. Sometimes there is some rowdiness but all-in-all it beats the burbs. The apartment building is five stories however, there is a five story parking garage so you park on the same floor you live on...nice when you're carrying things in.
Only complaint is that some tennants have pets and it seems when they come home and let their pets out the pets can't wait to do their deed til the courtyard. With interior access, the hallways can smell a little ripe at times. It would be nice if everyone would clean-up after their animals and not act like one themselves, but what can you say, pigs will be pigs. I give the facility a 7.5 out of 10.

I thought it was a tad overpriced. I realize you're paying for location, and I LOVE the Channelside area, but the units are much nicer where I live (Phillips International), and I'm still only a few miles from the Channelside area. No, I can't walk there, but I can walk to International Plaza which is almost as good and I since my rent is cheaper that's more money for shopping/drinks... lol.

I guess it's all in what's important to you. I really loved the building and units though.
