Safe neighborhood near USF
Hi, I'm from a Mexico and I'm moving to Tampa next august. I'm looking for a safe neighborhood near USF. And if there aren't, please recommend me any safe one in another area.
I have done many searches and I found the apartment that I nedded, but I'm not sure about how safe could the area be. What do you this about the 2812 Americana Circle. Zip Code 33613. The complex name is Somerset Park
I would really appreciate your help.

Im not too familiar with the complex, but your in a good area off Bruce B Downs and Bearss Avenue. IN the USF area you want to be East of Bruce B Downs/30th Street, north of Campus...areas like Tampa Palms are nice.

Terrace Park
I'm the secretary of the Civic Association and I've lived here for 10 years. It is a wonderful neighborhood where you find big and small houses, town homes and apartments.
Residents here range from college professors & students to hospital workers and business owners. Since we are centrally located in Tampa, just west of Temple Terrace and south of the University of South Florida, our neighborhood is the most diverse I know in all of Tampa because the university is close by as are most of the areas major hospitals (Moffit Cancer Center, UCH, Shrinersl Childrens and the VA). This is an area with moderately priced homes of all sizes and ages. We have an 18 acre City park (Takomah Trail), one of the largest science centers in the southeast (MOSI), Busch Gardens and Adventure Island right in our own neighborhood.
The food is the best part, because of the diversity we have independent coffee shops, Mexican, Italian, Asian, Jamacian, Middle Eastern restaurants (& bakeries) all right here. OK, now I'm hungry!
There are a few apartment complexes, and lots of houses to rent because of the current U S real estate market downturn . There's even a brand new complex on Bourganvilla at McKinley Street but I don't think they are ready yet.
I hope you check us out.
