It sure seems like "someone" does not want us to feel welcome here in Florida. This is crazy!

Sorry to hear about your theft. We've lived here 12 years and have been very lucky, but I've always been cautious. Last night, our neighbor's van was broken into - a GPS and tools were stolen. We live in a nice neighborhood in Valrico. Three policemen live on our street -- one at each end and a third in the middle, but that doesn't stop the thieves.
Yesterday, a police helicopter was flying low over our neighborhood -- looking for someone I'm sure.
Don't keep any valuables in your car! Keep your doors at your home locked. Don't open your door to strangers, but find a way to let them know you are home so they don't bust the door open, thinking the house is empty. Get a dog if you don't have one, but remember to make him/her a part of your life.
I'm sure you'll eventually come to love Florida - as we do.
