Default Maine to FL and where to live-Largo area

I'm moving back to Florida from Maine, approx. April 2009. I use to live in Florida for 4 years starting 2000. When I went to FL in 2000 for vacation to look around, I visited some mobile home parks to find place to live. I remember that one of the parks had some mobile homes for about $2,000. Yes, they needed a lot of work, but that's okay. I ended up living in Teakwood Village in Largo. Well, I'm moving back to Florida but this time don't have all the finances I did back then, so now I need to find someplace to live that is a lot cheaper (at least to start off with). I've been checking online for mobile home parks with very inexpensive mobile homes but I'm not finding them listed. I also am shocked by the park rental fees that I see online. I'm beginning to think that maybe the very inexpensive mobile homes are not listed on the internet. Does anyone have any suggestions how I could find some "handiman specials" for mobile homes with inexpensive lot rents. Thanks so much.

That's one of the ones I've been checking, nothing very, very inexpensive and most of the park rental fees are high.

Welcome to Florida, it is not the bargain many think it is, but I am sure you can find a cheap mobile home park.

Thanks. Because I lived there for 4 years already, I am very optomistic about my prospects. I just wished I had more finances to work with. I know it will be hard to start out, but I know it will get better as time goes by. I can wait.

Unfortunately I think it's going to be tough to find a place with a really low park rental, don't they usually include utilities, etc? If so, utilities have doubled/tripled in the last couple years, along with property taxes so there aren't too many bargains out there.

Hope you find what you are looking for.

When I lived there before, I purchased my mobile home, but had to rent the land it was on. I paid all my own utilities. The park mowed the lawn, and had rubbish removal. I'll keep looking, thanks.

You may have to try Bithlo, Florida or Christmas, Florida to get some really good deals.

Why are you advising her to move to the worst parts of Florida?

That's not nice.
