BocaBunch is on a distinguished road
Default Moving to Wesley Chapel area...

Our family is moving to the Wesley Chapel area from BEAUTIFUL, but expensive, Boca Raton. I wanted to see if there were any advice on good schools, neighborhoods, parks, etc... As we have a 12 year old & a 2 year old, any information on activities around there or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thank you!

Wesley Chapel was growing by leaps and bounds until the housing crunch. Parts of it are older and parts are very upscale. The moderately priced homes seem to be in Meadow Pointe (SE part of W.C.). I like Lexington Oaks and Seven Oaks personally but if you play golf and/or tennis check out Saddlebrook. Shopping is just south on Bruce B. Downs Blvd. and there are lots of chain restaurants close by. I don't know how it's progressing but a new mall (Sawgrass) is supposed to be built where SR-54 and SR-56 meet. But there have been a lot of problems getting it started.

If i'm right the mall is called Cypress Creek mallwhich is right now at a stand still. The mall you are talking about is called "the shoppes at Wiregrass" and is going to open on Oct. 25th or 26th.

Wesley Chapel is great and there are nice communities some with CDD and HOA fees and some have only a HOA fee like New River. I do like Seven Oaks with their nice community clubhouse, pools,etc.... New river has a pool, basketball court and tennis court and only has HOA fees. Meadow Point has community pool(s), courts, etc...and also CDD and HOA....so it also about how much do you have to pay extra.
The school are very good and I have great experiences with the public schools here after my kids have been in private schools.
