Default Help.. My Dad needs a job!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My parents relocated from VA to Brandon and my dad can't find work. He was a delivery driver with fedex for 20+ years and was laid off. He is licensed to drive limos and buses only. It's been a year since he's had steady work and it is killing him and my mom.

Does anyone have any leads in the transport industry? He will work any and all hours and days. It's really starting to take a toll on him. He's applied to so many places and no call backs. I appreciate any help.

Thanks!

No one should be moving to the Tampa Bay area without a job already lined up. One of my friends has been looking for a job for 6 months -- she is OVERqualified for most of the positions she's applied for. Another friend of mine can't find work either. Good luck to your dad -- he may need to move somewhere with a stronger job market at least temporarily. In the meantime, however, maybe look into working odds and ends with a temp service.

The job market is rough around here at this point. My friend has been looking for a good job for about 8 mons. now and is over qualified for most positions. It stinks, but that's how the ball is rolling now. Try looking in the Tampa Tribune. There is a place down on Florida and Waters (if I am not mistaken), it's Hillsborough County something, but they have job listings there and can help. The wait will be long, but it's worth a shot.

One thing I've learned about Florida - it's not what you know, but WHO you know!

Good luck to you & your family...
