So I've decided that St. Petersburg is where I want to live in a few months..I am 22 years old and just graduated college up here in Pa..I have visited the area while my friends went to school at Eckerd college and enjoyed the area beyond belief I just want to make sure that it will be a good move for me...I am from PA and just want to get an idea of the best areas to move to and to get everyones opinion on moving down here..I understand the weather is going to be different and can accept that, I want to know more on the living conditions and what the job opportunities are (I have my degree in finance)..I would like to get everyones view on if this is a good place to move to and raise a family..Thank you ahead of time

I think it's a great place- I'm raising a family here. Like any other , you need to pick your areas carefully/schools/keep safe, etc. , but there is a lot to do and the outdoor oppurtunities are endless.

I don't know enough about your field to discuss jobs, but there are some financial firms located in north St. Pete/Carillion Park.

I came from central and SE PA and it's a big difference from PA. It's not only the heat, although the summers are hotter there, it's also the humidity, which can be bad in PA. It's a different pace as well as culture. I have a daughter that lived there for 5 years and enjoyed it. She lives in Tampa/city now.

Default Job

Have a job ready before you move, in this economic situation you don't want to come here and not be able to find a job. That would be my number one advise to you. And you might also have enough money for a couple of months in case you don't have a job right away. Good luck
