Hello!

I am a 30 year old femaile and have been offered a job as an Occupational Therapist in Seminole. Flying to the USA by end of this year.

Can you please tell me more about these places? cost of living, appartment or condo rental, need for a car, safety?

How are are these places from eachother and to St. Pete or Tampa?

I'd appreciate all the info you could give me!

Hi - I saw nobody replied...so I thought I would tell you a little something. I am an RN and "considering" relocating to Saint Petersburg which is right next to Seminole. You will probably need a car. I really don't know the cost of apartments...but I was looking to buy a home. I am not sure you could buy a 3/2 on an OT's salary. I am sure you could get a nice condo...and if you are single I guess that's better anyhow. My concern is that healthcare workers don't make enough money in Florida. Healthcare workers in general make less in the Southeast area of the US. The good thing is you won't have to pay state taxes...that will really help. Good Luck.

Where are you moving from?

You will need a car, Most buses dont run everywhere down here.
My son rents a nice condo in St Pete 1 bedroom for 550.00.
which in Tampa would be 800.00. Check out Realtor com for prices in seminole.

hi bluemaddy and floridasunshine

I am coming from the Philippines. There will 2 or 3 of us moving to Seminole and working for the same nursing facility and 2 others will be in Bradenton. I have found a really nice condo which is about 1 minute away (drive, I suppose) from the facility.

Our arrival will be on the last quarter of the year.

Thank you for your replies. It's helping me out a lot!

Glad you found a place - you will absolutely love it. Take advantage of the beaches! They're beautiful Bradenton is a bit south of Seminole. we lived in a very nice Apartment complex in North St Pete - two gorgeous pools and hot tubs, a gym with good equipment, and dog walking areas - all the amenities of a nice property. Gated. 2.2 $750/month. But I know friends who rented a house for that amoutn, too. Good luck and welcome to the mainland.

Default Lived in Seminole 6 years

Hi, I lived in Seminole for over 6 years. It is very safe. A great part of West Florida. There aren't that many good "go out" spots for 30 something's but you are very close to a lot of them. Buses run in the main streets, so you should be fine there. You have the beaches which are VERY close, St. Pete which is close and Tampa isn't too far (about 15 min.). I love Seminole and it is a great place to raise a family. Lots of old people though (like 70's). Be sure to check out Green Iguana when you get into town, it is a nice hang out in Seminole.

HI!

Thanks again for your great replies. We have been anxious with the costs of living there. We've found condo units which around $700 for each of the two of us. There are quite several really great condos/apartments on the list that we can actually choose from. I've been getting positive feedbacks of the place, which is comforting to us.

Any downside of the place?
