My wife and I have a young daughter and one on the way and we are looking to get out of the NE. My employer has an office in St. Pete and we are trying to find a nice family friendly town to relocate to. Preferably near the ocean or bay - a 45 min commute would be acceptable. Please help we have never been to the area and know nothing about it.

You have a several areas to chose from depending on where in St. Pete you will be working. There are some nice areas in St. Pete. There is also S. Tampa and Sarasota. It might be hard to tell you how long a commute with out more info..

Are you looking to buy or rent?
Do you want a house or apt?
What is your budget for housing?
Do you have any idea exactly where in St Pete you will be working?

We are going to rent at first to get a feel for the area - our max rent will be $1300 and a house or apartment will do but we would like 3 beds. Is Safety Harbor a nice family town? I believe I will be working on the east end of Central Ave, a few blocks from the water. I am willing to sacrifice commute time for a community with parks, recreation, and activities.
